Aviation Network Manager (Lead Information Technology Systems Specialist) - Aviation Department

About This Position

The Lead Information Technology Systems Specialist supervises and participates in administrative and technical research studies and the evaluation, development, use, and/or maintenance of technical system hardware/software including operating systems, executive programs, transaction processors, data base management systems. The incumbent participates on design review boards; reviews systems designs to ensure adherence to established policies and procedures; advises other personnel on technical software/hardware matters; assists the Administrator in determining the need and scope of study for Technical Service Requests (TSR's); and designs and implements TSR projects, or assigns projects to appropriate personnel.

Position Overview

The Aviation Network Manager position is located in the Aviation Department and currently has one (1) vacancy. The successful candidate will manage Aviation's Network Engineering Services (NES) section, which consists of two distinct teams: Network Engineering and Cabling. This position is responsible for coordinating technical personnel, projects, operational activities, and competing priorities across the section.

Leadership & Strategic Role

• Serves as a key member of the Technology Division leadership team and plays an integral role in both strategic and operational planning.
• Collaborates with division leadership to shape long term technology strategies, align operational initiatives with organizational goals, and ensure the delivery of high impact solutions that support Aviation's mission and business needs.

Customer Engagement & Innovation

• Engages and coordinates with internal and external stakeholders on projects and identifies opportunities for process improvement, operational efficiency, and innovative technology solutions.
• Requires a forward-thinking mindset and the ability to translate business requirements into scalable, secure, and sustainable technology initiatives.

Salary

Pay Range: $115,460.80 to $154,731.20 annually.
Hiring Range: $115,460.80 to $147,368.00 annually.

Minimum Qualifications

• Three years of experience developing, evaluating, using, and maintaining technical system hardware and software.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, math or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications

• Three years of experience with writing technical standards and procedures, scopes of work, and project plans.
• Budget management, planning, and acquisition of equipment and software including cost/benefit and ROI analysis, troubleshooting, and maintaining large-scale network infrastructure, network security infrastructure, cloud networking, data-center networking, wireless networking, and related network infrastructure.
• Leading network engineering teams, coordinating multiple concurrent technical projects, allocating technical resources, and managing operational network services.
• Advanced routing and switching, Cisco SD-Access, Cisco ACI, Microsoft Azure networking, network security, wireless, network automation, and structured cabling.
• Experience with technical system planning and budgeting, and acquisition and acceptance of new equipment and software to determine relative cost/benefits.
• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) certification.
