FAA covered safety-sensitive position. Subject to regulatory alcohol & drug testing, which includes testing for marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine & opioids. Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

About the role

Provide safe and efficient maintenance, including repair, engine run, taxi, and troubleshooting of aircraft at various maintenance locations as assigned to minimize delays, cancellations, and out-of-service impacts. Execute planned and unplanned maintenance tasks in accordance with the appropriate manuals. Communicate exceptions as they occur and create accurate, complete write-ups with all inputs in a timely manner. When no manager or lead is onsite, accept the daily work release plan. Perform other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Determine aircraft system failures, troubleshoot, and repair.
  • Use test equipment and interpret and adhere to all aircraft manuals.
  • Attain engine run, taxi, and aircraft tow operator certifications as directed.
  • Complete all aircraft parts replacement procedures.
  • Maintain and service aircraft systems in both line and hangar environments.
  • Access and complete electronic AML procedures and computer-based training modules.
  • Meet all training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Handle hazardous situations and emergencies as needed.
  • Perform well in a fast-paced environment under deadlines to meet flight schedule demands.
  • Work cooperatively as part of a team under stressful situations.
  • Remain alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment effectively.
  • Communicate information and instructions in writing, verbally, or via radio equipment.
  • Provide friendly service and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Perform job functions in cramped and confined spaces, at heights, in hazardous areas, and in various weather conditions.
  • Climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
  • Support, adhere to, and perform company and regulatory security-related directives.
  • Obtain required airport certifications and approval for airport access.
  • Lift up to 75 lbs. and maneuver heavy aircraft-related components, parts, and equipment regularly.
  • Mentor and work with new and inexperienced team members.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Current A&P Licenses.
  • Valid non-restricted driver’s license from the state of residence.
  • Thirty-six (36) months of aircraft maintenance experience on turbine-powered aircraft exceeding 12,500 lbs. MEW (excludes A&P school and training).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred location: Anchorage, AK.
  • Required to work at the FedEx location five days a week.
