Provide safe and efficient maintenance, including repair, engine run, taxi, and troubleshooting of aircraft at various maintenance locations as assigned to minimize delays, cancellations, and out-of-service impacts. Execute planned and unplanned maintenance tasks in accordance with the appropriate manuals. Communicate exceptions as they occur and create accurate, complete write-ups with all inputs in a timely manner. When no manager or lead is onsite, accept the daily work release plan. Perform other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities
- Determine aircraft system failures, troubleshoot, and repair.
- Use test equipment to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Interpret and adhere to all aircraft manuals.
- Attain engine run, taxi, and aircraft tow operator certifications as directed.
- Complete all aircraft parts replacement procedures.
- Maintain and service aircraft systems in both line and hangar environments.
- Access and complete electronic Aircraft Maintenance Log (AML) procedures and computer-based training modules.
- Meet all training requirements in a timely manner.
- Handle hazardous situations and emergencies as needed.
- Perform well in a fast-paced environment under deadlines to meet flight schedule demands.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team under stressful situations.
- Remain alert to moving vehicles or aircraft and use radio equipment effectively.
- Communicate information and instructions in writing, verbally, or via radio equipment.
- Provide friendly service and maintain positive relationships with internal and external customers.
- Work cooperatively to ensure company success.
- Perform job functions in cramped and confined spaces, at heights, in hazardous areas, and under various weather conditions.
- Climb, bend, kneel, crawl, and stoop frequently and for extended periods.
- Support, adhere to, and perform company and regulatory security-related directives.
- Obtain required airport certifications and access approvals.
- Lift up to 75 lbs. and maneuver heavy aircraft-related components, parts, and equipment regularly.
- Mentor and work with new and inexperienced team members.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Current A&P Licenses.
- Valid non-restricted driver’s license from the state of residence.
- Thirty-six (36) months of aircraft maintenance experience on turbine-powered aircraft exceeding 12,500 lbs. MEW (excludes A&P school and training).
- Sufficient computer skills for electronic procedures and training.
- Ability to work in an FAA-covered safety-sensitive position, subject to regulatory alcohol and drug testing (including marijuana, PCP, amphetamines, cocaine, and opioids).
Preferred Qualifications
- Preferred location: Anchorage, AK.
- Required to work at the FedEx location five days a week.
