About the role
JMT is seeking a motivated Civil Engineer who desires increasing responsibilities in design and management of landside civil engineering projects to support aviation clients. The successful candidate will provide project status updates to department management and coordinate with clients and subconsultants. Work assignments may include design and project management tasks such as construction drawing preparation, construction cost estimating, processing technical specifications, and meeting coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Develop contract documents (plans, specifications, quantities/estimates)
- Coordinate and run project meetings
- Maintain and update department organizational and quality control standards
- Analyze survey reports, maps, drawings, blueprints, aerial photography, and other topographical or geologic data to plan projects
- Perform design computations
- Coordinate with and/or manage project sub-consultants and in-house support disciplines
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or a related field from an accredited program
- Professional Engineer License or equivalent
- 4-8 years’ experience in civil design
- Task management experience
- Working knowledge and understanding of AutoCAD Civil 3D and/or Bentley Open Roads Designer/MicroStation
- Detailed construction cost estimating
- Technical specification writing
Skills
- Proficient in MS Office Software
Preferred Qualifications
- In-depth knowledge of FAA Advisory Circulars, Engineering Briefs, and Orders
- Working knowledge of DoD Unified Facilities Criteria
- Project management skills (schedules, budgets, etc.)
- Supervisory role on project task experience
- Road/Highway Design Experience
