Job Description

This organization is seeking an AVD Virtualization Engineer for a new role focused on the engineering, implementation, and optimization of a large-scale Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD) platform. This position supports an enterprise environment of approximately 12,000 virtual desktops. The ideal candidate will balance hands-on execution with engineering-level problem-solving, contributing to platform enhancements and providing thoughtful recommendations based on prior experience.

Experience

  • A minimum of five years of related work experience is required, including experience supporting Windows desktop and Virtualization Platforms. Mandatory strong engineering experience with large, enterprise-scale AVD implementations. Experience with Citrix or Horizon is acceptable only if paired with demonstrated AVD engineering depth.

Technical Skills

  • Hands-on experience with AVD or comparable virtual desktop technologies is required.
  • A working knowledge of Azure fundamentals (compute, networking, storage) and experience with FSLogix profile management are also necessary.
  • Basic experience with automation tools such as PowerShell or Terraform is required.

Education

  • An undergraduate degree in a related field or the equivalent combination of training and experience is required.

Experience with Nerdio for AVD Automation and Management

  • Experience with Nerdio for AVD automation and management is preferred.

Experience with Microsoft Intune and/or Group Policy

  • Experience with Microsoft Intune and/or Group Policy is preferred.

Familiarity with Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, and MFA Concepts

  • Familiarity with Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, and MFA concepts is preferred.

Experience in Financial Services or Similarly Regulated, High-Urgency Environments

Work Schedule

The role requires a hybrid work schedule, with in-office presence expected on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday. The position offers location options in Pennsylvania, North Carolina, or Texas.
