AV Service Technician - Crestron - NYC Market

About the role
The successful candidate will work from home and will be dispatched to client sites in the NYC area to troubleshoot and resolve AV issues found in board rooms and conference rooms. This role involves providing in-person troubleshooting of audio video systems in executive board rooms and conference centers. Candidates must be professional and have the ability to interface with enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to the following equipment and systems:
- Custom Control systems: Crestron DM and NVX / AMX
- Complex audio video systems found in executive board rooms and conference centers
- Video teleconferencing equipment and systems (Cisco, POLY, LOGITECH)
- Audio Visual over IP (AVoIP) networks for audio-visual data over LAN, WAN, and internet
- Audio DSP based systems, including amplifiers, speakers, and microphones (Biamp, QSC)
- Projection display devices and systems
- Video wall systems (Planar, UNILUMEN, LG, Samsung, Barco)
- Digital signage equipment and systems
- Extron equipment
- Luxul, NETGEAR, CISCO switches
- RF Systems (analog and digital, to a lesser degree)
- Reverse engineer legacy AV systems
- Debug newly built systems
- Conduct Preventative Maintenance testing
- Perform site surveys related to service agreement quotes
- Write concise service reports and system site surveys
- Manage multiple service projects successfully
- Lead and mentor junior/intermediate level field service techs
- Testing with multimeter and troubleshooting hardware issues
- Research and specify replacement products
Requirements
- Minimum of 3 years of experience with AV troubleshooting
- Experience with major AV brands such as Crestron and Biamp
- Intermediate to advanced AV Networking skills
- Ability to troubleshoot Crestron systems
- Customer service experience and ability to interface with customers regularly
- Two-year diploma from a college of technical school, or equivalent experience
- CTS certification highly preferred, or equivalent experience
- 3 years minimum field service experience
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
- Ability to stand, kneel, and/or crouch for long periods of time
- Ability to climb ladders and scaffolding
- Ability to lift in excess of 50 pounds

Pay
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $55.00 per hour. Individual compensation within this range will depend on qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
