AV Onsite Support Technician

Location: Syracuse, NY Schedule: 100% Onsite, Monday-Friday Type: Full-Time About The Opportunity We are looking for an AV Onsite Support Technician to support classroom and collaboration technology across a large university campus environment. This is a great opportunity for someone with commercial AV installation, service, or support experience who wants to move into a stable onsite position and take ownership of the technology they support. Youll troubleshoot AV issues, perform preventative maintenance, assist with installations and upgrades, and support technology across classrooms, auditoriums, labs, and collaboration spaces. What Youll Be Doing Provide hands-on onsite support for commercial AV and classroom technologyTroubleshoot and support Extron products and control systemsDiagnose issues involving projectors, displays, cameras, microphones, speakers, audio/video equipment, control systems, and computersTroubleshoot AV signal flow, connectivity, and system performance issuesSupport classroom presentation systems, lecture capture, video conferencing, and hybrid learning technologySet up, test, operate, and maintain AV equipmentPerform preventative maintenance and respond to day-to-day AV support needsAssist with AV installations, equipment replacements, and system upgradesSupport classroom renovations and new construction technology projectsWork alongside AV engineers, IT teams, construction groups, and outside AV integratorsProvide direct technical assistance to faculty, students, and staffTrain end users on classroom and AV technologyOccasionally travel to additional university locations for AV support and installations What Were Looking For 3+ years of AV, commercial AV, classroom technology, or related technical experienceStrong hands-on experience with Extron products and control systemsStrong AV troubleshooting skillsExperience supporting integrated AV systems including projectors, displays, cameras, microphones, audio systems, video equipment, computers, and control systemsUnderstanding of AV signal flow and integrated presentation systemsExperience supporting classrooms, conference rooms, auditoriums, corporate AV environments, or similar technology-enabled spacesAbility to independently diagnose and troubleshoot AV problemsExperience with AV installations, equipment upgrades, or system commissioning is a plusStrong customer service and communication skillsComfortable working directly with technical and nontechnical end usersAbility to use hand and power tools and perform hands-on equipment workBachelors degree or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience Why This Opportunity? Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Syracuse, NY. Pay And Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
