About the Role

As an Autonomous Vehicle Roadside Assistance Agent at TaskUs, you'll be responsible for troubleshooting and rebooting self-driving cars, monitoring their operations, and ensuring passenger safety. You'll also educate the public about autonomous vehicle technology and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Proficient in basic computer troubleshooting and rebooting self-driving autonomous vehicles in service areas.
  • Monitor multiple software systems with constant focus.
  • Connect to computer platforms using Android cell phones or laptops to issue commands and restart modules.
  • Maintain situational awareness and adapt to changes in the environment.
  • Wait/drive in the service area in a company vehicle for 6-8 hours a day, 5 days a week, to service self-driving autonomous vehicles.
  • Safely operate a non-autonomous vehicle while monitoring self-driving autonomous vehicles.
  • Operate self-driving vehicles on defined and undefined routes in various environmental conditions.
  • Recover self-driving autonomous vehicles by parking safely, setting up protection, disengaging the vehicle, and driving it to a safe location.
  • Set up self-driving autonomous vehicles and apply safety procedures during rescue operations.
  • Communicate courteously with management, engineers, and the public.
  • Respond quickly to changing, high-pressure environments.
  • Provide clear and accurate feedback on vehicle operations and complete daily reports.
  • Educate the public on self-driving technology and assist passengers with boarding and disembarking.

Requirements

  • Must be 21 years old.
  • High School Diploma or GED required; four-year college degree preferred in a related field.
  • Valid driver's license and driving record meeting state AVT and applicable regulations.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience driving on public roads.
  • Proficiency with laptop computers, GSuite apps, and touchscreen smartphones.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 adjusted wpm.

Physical Requirements

  • Occasional standing, walking, and sitting; long periods of sitting.
  • Use of hands, fingers, and ability to talk and hear.
  • Occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 45 pounds.
  • Close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Most work is accomplished outdoors in a vehicle.

Salary Range: per year. The actual salary will be determined based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geographic location.
