About the role
The Automotive Technology Instructor prepares students for successful careers in the automotive industry by delivering high-quality technical instruction, hands-on training, and professional guidance.
Responsibilities
- Provide classroom and laboratory instruction in automotive systems:
- Engine repair and performance
- Braking systems
- Steering and suspension
- Electrical and electronic systems
- HVAC systems
- Automatic and manual transmissions
- Ensure students gain practical, real-world experience through:
- Shop-based lab activities
- Diagnostic procedures
- Use of industry-standard tools and equipment
- Safety practices and OSHA compliance
- Prepare students for employment by:
- Teaching professionalism, work ethic, and teamwork
- Emphasizing customer service skills
- Preparing students for ASE certification exams
- Assisting with internships, co-ops, and job placement opportunities
Requirements
- Associate degree or higher in Automotive Technology or related field AND 3 years of related work experience AND appropriate current certifications/licenses required for the course.
- OR a minimum of 5 years of work experience in the field AND appropriate current certifications/licenses required for the course.
Preferred Qualifications
- ASE Advanced Level Specialist certification
Pay
Salary range: $4,098 – $5,123 per month.
