Automotive Installation Technician

What You'll Do

• Install and troubleshoot GPS, ELDs, telematics, dash cameras, sensors, and tracking equipment
• Work on light-duty vehicles, commercial trucks, tractors, trailers, and other fleet assets
• Perform basic 12V/24V wiring, including power, ignition, ground, diagnostic, and trailer connections
• Route and secure wiring for clean, professional installations
• Test GPS, cellular connectivity, cameras, sensors, and system functionality
• Diagnose electrical, connectivity, and installation issues
• Document completed installations with photos, device information, and service notes
• Travel to customer and fleet locations for mobile installations and projects
• Maintain a strong focus on safety, quality, and right-first-time installations

What We're Looking For

• Hands-on automotive, electrical, mechanical, or installation experience
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems and basic diagnostics
• Comfortable using hand and power tools
• Ability to read basic wiring diagrams and technical instructions
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Comfortable working independently in a mobile environment
• Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
• Professional communication and customer service skills
• Valid driver's license and clean driving record
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in, around, and underneath vehicles and trailers
• 21+ years of age

Qualifications

Candidates with backgrounds in automotive repair, automotive electrical, fleet maintenance, diesel/heavy-duty mechanics, vehicle upfitting, mobile service, ADAS/diagnostics, telematics, or vehicle electronics are encouraged to apply. You don't need to know every telematics system on day one—we're looking for strong technical aptitude, hands-on experience, and the ability to learn.

Nice to Have

• Telematics/GPS/ELD installation experience
• Experience with Samsara, Geotab, Motive, Verizon Connect, Lytx, or similar platforms
• 12V/24V electrical experience
• Commercial truck or trailer experience
• ADAS scanning or calibration experience
• ASE, I-CAR, or related certifications
