Automotive Aftermarket Instructor - Northeast

About the role

V2X is seeking an Automotive Aftermarket Instructor to facilitate Instructor Led Training courses. The ideal candidate will mentor and coach entry-level and advanced automotive service technicians, providing technical training virtually and in-person.

Responsibilities

• Deliver technical training virtually and in-person through various formats including seminar style, small group coaching, and hands-on, from 1 – 8 hours in length.
• Develop relationships with stakeholders to effectively schedule training within assigned market area.
• Demonstrate on vehicle diagnosis/repair procedures and objectively evaluate the diagnostic skills and aptitude of service technicians.
• Provide technical diagnostic assistance to technicians via phone as necessary.
• Manage 25% - 50% overnight travel.

Qualifications

• Proficient with automotive service information and diagnostic support software.
• Skilled with highly technical diagnostic equipment, including scan tools, lab scopes, DVOMs, HVAC equipment, vibration diagnostic equipment, etc.
• Excellent interpersonal skills; able to work effectively with customers and coworkers in a team setting.
• Strong working knowledge in MS Office (PowerPoint, Word, Excel), internet, and email.
• Minimum of five years automotive technician experience.
• Automotive instructor or public speaking experience preferred.
• Experience with aftermarket parts and supplier processes/standards is a plus.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Current ASE Certified Master A1 – A8 Automobile Technician (must be obtained within first year of employment).
• ASE A9, L1, L3, L4 and Section 609 certifications (must be obtained within first year of employment).

Compensation

The wage band for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 depending on experience and active certifications.

Work Environment

Work is performed in an automotive shop setting. Exposure to automotive fumes, fluids, noise, smells, sharp edges or bump hazards may occur. Duties may involve standing, sitting, walking, occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending, frequent near vision use for reading and computer use. Manual dexterity and coordination are required for operating equipment such as a computer keyboard, monitor, projector, calculator, printer, and standard office equipment.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to operate a motor vehicle for up to five hours at a time. In addition, the employee is required to sit, stand, bend, kneel, stoop, communicate, reach, and manipulate objects. Duties may involve moving materials weighing up to 35 pounds on a regular basis such as automotive components and equipment, as well as papers, files, boxes, computers, etc.
