Automation Technician - Robot Welder
Responsibilities
- Set up welders and weld – Set up welders, weld, and troubleshoot basic GTAW and GMAW mild steel joints based on knowledge of weld symbols and materials.
- Perform 1st piece layouts – Perform 1st piece table layouts to support quality assurance.
- Program and adjust robotic welders – Change and troubleshoot programs to make offsets on work pieces to ensure good welds.
- Maintain robotic welders – Set up, calibrate, program, maintain, and troubleshoot robotic welders with feedback from CMM reports.
- Packaging parts – Package parts for shipping.
- Complete documentation – Complete job documentation for all production runs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; vocational training
- Forklift operator’s license preferred
- 2 years of experience welding in a manufacturing environment
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of GD&T and blueprints
- Proficient programming Motoman, Panasonic, and Fanuc robots
- Ability to use CAD and SolidWorks
- Good teamwork and communication skills
- Ability to use precision measurement tools
- Good understanding of weld fixture design
- Ability to frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds
- This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the shift
- Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to fumes or airborne particles, hazardous chemicals, moving mechanical parts, industrial equipment, vibration, and loud noise
- No travel required for this position
