About the role
The Automation Programmer will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining automated systems to improve efficiency and reduce errors in manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement automation solutions using PLCs, HMIs, and other control systems.
- Develop and maintain software applications that integrate with existing systems.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Debug and troubleshoot automation systems to ensure they meet performance standards.
- Document project progress and maintenance procedures for future reference.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- At least 2 years of experience in automation programming and system integration.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, and PLC programming languages (e.g., Ladder Logic).
- Experience with industrial automation tools and platforms like Allen Bradley, Siemens, or Rockwell Automation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications
- Knowledge of industrial networking protocols such as EtherNet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus.
- Experience with database management and SQL.
- Understanding of safety standards and certifications relevant to automation (e.g., ISO 9001, ASME).
