About the role
We are seeking an Automation Engineer with 2+ years of experience supporting, programming, and troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs, Studio 5000, FactoryTalk Optix, HMI, controls, and system integration.
Responsibilities
- Program, configure, and troubleshoot Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs using Studio 5000
- Develop and support FactoryTalk Optix HMI applications
- Troubleshoot PLC, HMI, controls, instrumentation, electrical, and network issues
- Support equipment commissioning, startup, testing, and qualification
- Integrate manufacturing equipment with site and ancillary systems
- Perform source code reviews, updates, backups, and code management
- Support SQL/database and industrial networking activities
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, IT, vendors, and OEMs
- Maintain technical documentation, test cases, procedures, and troubleshooting guides
- Support automation improvements and manufacturing optimization
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Automation, Computer Science, or related field preferred
- 2+ years of automation/controls engineering experience
- Strong hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley/Rockwell PLCs and Studio 5000
- Experience with FactoryTalk Optix
- Working knowledge of SQL, databases, and industrial networking
- Experience troubleshooting automated manufacturing equipment
- Ability to read electrical drawings and control schematics
- Strong troubleshooting, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Pharmaceutical/regulatory manufacturing experience is a plus, but consumer products, packaging, high-speed manufacturing, and similar backgrounds are welcome
- Must be able to work onsite in Indianapolis, IN
