Responsibilities
- Serve As Functional Owner Of The Plant Automation System
- Ensure plant’s control and automation hardware and software systems, are aligned with Aurubis corporate standards and site-specific requirements.
- Ensure plant automation systems are integrated into the plant design.
- Ensure standard control strategies and algorithms for process optimization and control, including optimization of automation system design with regards to process security as well as easiness of operations and maintenance.
- Ensure maintenance work force is capable of interacting with the automation / controls system for process troubleshooting, as well as automation and controls troubleshooting and repair.
- Ensure technical drawings and other engineering files are accurate and accessible.
- Ensure core instrument and automation spare parts are available.
- Ensure all Automaton software, licensing and access are up to date.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or other ASME certification is strongly preferred.
- ISA Certified Automation Professional (CAP) or similar certification is strongly preferred.
- 3-5 years of experience in Instrumentation and Controls Engineering.
- Experience in a cement, metal, chemical, or mining industry preferred.
- Experience with Siemens TIA Portal, WinCC preferred.
- Experience with OT/IT interface, OSI PI system.
- Experience with Server-Client architecture industrial communication Profinet, Modbus, OPCUA, etc.
- Experience with automation software and hardware systems, such as PLCs, HMIs, and SCADA.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Must be willing and physically able to observe and walk in a smelter environment.
- Must be willing and physically able to work in varying cold and heat situations.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
