About the role
Design clear, complete, and accurately working automation products and systems using CAD, rough or detailed sketches, and/or notes.
Responsibilities
- Create drawings, checking material dimensions and relationship to other parts and to the entire structure or project on the drawing.
- Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards.
- Verify dimensional accuracy of structural layouts and installations.
- Work with manufacturing, vendors, and engineering to ensure documentation meets specifications.
- Collaborate with the sales team and customers on design and applications.
- Construct drawings from concepts or sketches.
- Review and critique proposed engineering standards, policies, or details.
- Act as project manager.
Requirements
- Equivalent to a two- or four-year degree preferred with major coursework in an engineering curriculum or a related area of study; or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential duties of the job.
- Knowledge of PLC programming.
- Knowledge of electrical circuits.
- Strong math skills, including geometry and trigonometry.
- Proficiency with drafting programs.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Detail-oriented with a willingness to accept challenges and strive for continual improvement.
- Safety-minded and practice shop safety.
- Self-motivated to work independently.
