Automation Engineer
About the role
We are a passionate company in industrial automation, known for our open, modular solutions and customer-focused approach. As an Automation Engineer, you will design, develop, test, implement, and deliver open and modular automation solutions for our clients. You will collaborate extensively with colleagues and clients to successfully complete projects within agreed timelines and budgets, sometimes as a project lead and other times as a hands-on engineer. We rotate tasks frequently, ensuring continuous learning, sharp skills, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Our open and modular solutions support this approach.
Responsibilities
- Design, document, and program PLC, SCADA, and HMI systems, including related aspects such as Functional Safety, Motion, Cyber Security, Edge Computing, Remote Access, Robots, and Cobots.
- Test and commission automation solutions, both your own (on-site) and those of colleagues (in the office).
- Analyze technical problems and find structured solutions.
- Collaborate with fellow engineers to ensure smooth project execution.
- Support and train clients in using our systems.
Requirements
- A completed technical education (MBO/HBO/WO) in electrical engineering, industrial automation, or a comparable field.
- Knowledge of and experience with PLC, HMI, and/or SCADA programming (e.g., Siemens, Schneider Electric, Omron, Phoenix Contact, Delta). Prior experience in similar roles is a plus.
- Strong analytical skills and a hands-on mentality.
- Excellent communication skills in both Dutch and English.
- Willingness to travel for projects (nationally and occasionally internationally), primarily for commissioning; most service tasks can be performed remotely.
- Willingness to continuously learn and share knowledge with the team.
