About the role

Amphenol High Speed Products Group is the market leader for high speed, high bandwidth electrical connectors for the Telecom/Datacom market (Mobile Networks, Storage, Servers, Routers, Switches, etc.). Our products help enable the electronics revolution and remain a key enabler for all the major Tier 1 OEMs globally. We have design, sales, and manufacturing locations globally and are seeking an Automation Engineer to join our Cable Backplane Systems team in Valley Green (Etters), PA.

High speed cable backplane systems enable most of the world's IT and datacom, including leading the way for the AI/ML revolution, and require some of the most advanced manufacturing technologies and highest levels of precision in the engineering world. These challenges demand creative, technical minds and provide a rewarding experience for employees.

This is an opportunity for a detail-oriented and innovative Automation Engineer to join a global technology company that leads the high-speed interconnect industry. You will be an integral part of a cross-functional team responsible for new product development, working alongside disciplines such as Mechanical Design, Signal Integrity, Mechanical Integrity, Manufacturing, and Process Development.

Responsibilities

  • Develop concepts, write scope of work documents, and design, test, deploy tooling, and validate automated systems.
  • Work closely with external suppliers and manufacturers to support the development, fabrication, and build of prototypes, pilot production, and deployment of high-volume factory automation.
  • Apply experience with machining and design to enhance automation processes.

Requirements

  • MS (with 5+ years' experience) or BS (with 10+ years) in Mechanical or Robotic Engineering.
  • Experience with automation, PLCs, and electrical controls.
  • Proficient with solid modeling tools, Pro/E Creo preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
