Auto Inspections Trainer

Description

Successful applicant would teach evening classes using a variety of teaching methods involving both lecture and hands-on lab instruction.

Job Description

  • Provides classroom instruction to students through lectures, demonstration, laboratory exercises, handouts, responding to questions, and testing according to established meeting patterns.
  • Assesses student learning outcomes and demonstrates the use of the results to make improvements to course/program.
  • Provides feedback to students regarding course progression.
  • Records and maintains suitable class records which show student membership hours, attendance and grades in accordance with deadlines.
  • Utilizes technology to access data, maintain records, generate reports, communicate with others and facilitate learning.
  • Test prep and prepares students for NC state inspection exam.
  • Informs the Dean of workforce and the Dean of Student Services of any student issues (academic, attendance, behavior, cheating, and plagiarism) as soon as possible.

Minimum Qualifications

  • North Carolina Vehicle Inspection Instructor Certification.
  • High School Diploma or GED.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Automotive Systems Technology and current ASE certifications.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to relate to people from differing educational, economic and social backgrounds.
  • Ability to lift up-to 50 pounds occasionally and up to 20 pounds frequently as needed to move objects and materials.
