Key Responsibilities
- Thoroughly inspect damaged vehicles to evaluate the extent of bodywork, interior, and mechanical damage, determining costs for repairs or replacements
- Prepare detailed repair estimates, including labor, parts, and materials, while coordinating with insurance companies
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining estimates, answering questions, and ensuring a positive repair experience
- Collaborate with technicians to verify repair feasibility and adjust estimates as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience (2+ years) as an Auto Body Estimator, Collision Estimator, or similar role in a body shop environment
- Strong knowledge of automotive repair processes, including damage assessment, parts identification, and cost calculation
- Familiarity with estimating software (CCC One, Mitchell) and industry standards
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Able to multitask, manage several jobs at once
- Attention to detail/Quick learner/Positive can do attitude
- Working with direct repair programs, DRP is preferred
- Certification (e.g., I-CAR or ASE) is a plus
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training preferred
