Austin, TX: Armed Protective Security Officer (PSO), DHS/FPS

About the role

Armed Security Officers perform a variety of security-related duties depending on the post.

Responsibilities

• Patrolling and monitoring exterior and community areas on-premises
• Access control of entrances and exits and departure of employees and visitors
• Monitoring surveillance cameras for any disruptions or unlawful activities
• Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
• Must be able to understand, explain, interpret, and apply rules, regulations, directives, and procedures per contract
• Provide detailed reports on daily activities and incidents that may have occurred
• Knowledgeable and able to effectively use magnetometer and X-ray machines
• Using provided communication devices such as two-way radios clearly and concisely
• Performing CPR or first aid when needed
• Ensure credentials are maintained per contract requirements
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor or Project Manager

Requirements

• Two (2) years of experience security experience
• Must possess and maintain a valid Security Guard Card
• Strong relevant knowledge of the security industry
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Must have a customer service-driven mindset
• Ability to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers

Education

• High School Diploma/GED
• At Least 2 Years of College

Certifications

• TxDPS Security License (Texas Armed)
• CPR/First Aid

This job reports to the Operations Manager. This is a Full and Part-Time position available for 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, and Weekends. Number of openings: 10.
