Responsibilities
- Patrol and monitor exterior and community areas on premises.
- Control access of entrances and exits for employees and visitors.
- Monitor surveillance cameras for disruptions or unlawful activities.
- Provide detailed reports on daily activities and incidents.
- Operate magnetometer and X-ray machines effectively.
- Use two-way radios for clear and concise communication.
- Apply listening and service skills in emergency response and evaluation procedures.
- Perform CPR or first aid when needed.
- Ensure credentials are maintained per contract requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Supervisor and/or Project Manager.
Requirements
- At least 21 years of age.
- United States citizen or a Lawful Permanent Resident who is currently a member of, or has an honorable discharge from, any component of the United States Armed Forces (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard).
- Possess a Social Security Card issued by the Social Security Administration.
- Meet one of the following experience and education criteria:
- A minimum of two (2) years of armed security experience or one (1) year of law enforcement experience in a full-duty status with a full-service police department.
- A minimum of two (2) years as a member of any US Armed Forces with an honorable discharge.
- Received, at minimum, either a high school diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) from an accredited institution.
- Fluent in speaking, reading, and comprehending English; able to compose written reports in English.
- Strong relevant knowledge of the security industry.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Customer service-driven mindset.
- Ability to communicate effectively and present information to all levels of internal and external customers.
- Trainable and able to display proficiency in firearms (pistol), intermediate weapons (OC spray and expandable baton), and First Aid, CPR, AED.
Physical Demands
- Physically able to perform tasks required for assigned duties.
- Frequent and prolonged walking, standing, sitting, and stooping up to twelve (12) hours per day, either indoors or outdoors.
- Ability to remain on post up to four (4) consecutive hours without sitting, eating, or receiving a break.
- Ability to remain alert for up to 12 hours, with the capacity to mentally and physically react quickly to unexpected and dangerous situations.
Certifications
- CPR/First Aid Basic Training.
- 72/64 hours Handcuffing Tactics and Instruction.
- OC aerosol spray certification.
- MEB Expandable Baton certification.
- Initial Weapon Training.
- DHS Suitability.
- National Weapons Detection Training Program.
