About the role

The Colorado Department of Revenue (CDOR) seeks an Auditor I to ensure limited gaming is conducted honestly, fairly, and competitively, and is free from criminal and corrupt elements. This position requires residency in Colorado and experience in auditing related to the work assigned.

Responsibilities

  • Examine records and interview licensee staff to complete revenue audits and compliance reviews.
  • Clarify objectives of the rules, regulations, and ICMP to licensees when conducting compliance reviews and audits in the field and responding to phone inquiries.
  • Evaluate gaming technology to ensure compliance with the Internal Controls and proper calculation and reporting of Adjusted Gross Proceeds.
  • Develop findings and recommendations needed to bring licensees into compliance with ICMP or Gaming Regulations.
  • Participate in report preparation and presentations.
  • Identify gaps in the knowledge of those being trained and participate in training others on the proper application of ICMPs and the completion of tax returns and other related documents.

Requirements

This position is open to Colorado residents only. Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications, which include five years of relevant experience in auditing related to the work assigned to this position, or a combination of education and experience equal to five years, and current, valid licensure as a CPA from the Colorado Board of Accountancy or a current, valid CIA certificate.

  • Experience with TeamMate audit management software.
  • Experience with Google Suite products (e.g., Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Slides, Google Doc, etc.).

Pay

The starting salary range for this position is $69,000 - $92,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications.

Schedule

Full-time position with a schedule that includes in-state travel as needed.
