Audit Intern

About the role

Opsahl Dawson is seeking an Audit Intern for a Summer 2027 internship, beginning in July 2027. The internship offers hands‑on training in audit and the opportunity to become a key part of the audit practice.

Responsibilities

• Engagement planning process.
• Perform audit procedures on financial statement account balances and prepare and adjust work papers from clients’ trial balances.
• Research accounting issues.
• Recognize potential problem areas in specific engagements and discuss them with the engagement supervisor.
• Identify potential management letter comments.
• Assume full responsibility (under supervision) for preparation of compiled and reviewed financial statements.
• Draft audited financial statements, including footnote disclosures.
• Perform other accounting, auditing, and consulting duties as needed.

Qualifications

• Senior or fifth‑year student working towards a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, CPA eligible.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and audit programs, preferably CCH Engagement.
• Knowledge of GAAP; knowledge of Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and Government Auditing Standards (GAS Yellow Book) is a plus.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Strong time‑management and organizational skills.
• Analytical, detail‑oriented, and able to multi‑task.

Pay

$28–$30 per hour.

Schedule
