Responsibilities
- Work as a member of engagement teams serving clients in the governmental sector.
- Affiliate with audit, review, and compilation engagements, including planning, testing, substantive procedures, and reporting activities.
- Travel to client sites to perform audit fieldwork.
- Compile, analyze, and document financial information and business transactions.
- Affiliate in preparing financial statements, workpapers, audit programs, and management reports.
- Identify discrepancies, exceptions, and potential issues and communicate findings to engagement team members.
- Maintain active communication with team members to help manage deadlines and deliverables.
- Utilize audit software, Excel, and other technology tools to complete assigned tasks.
- Present ideas and process improvements while developing professional and technical skills.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Completion of at least one intermediate accounting and audit course is preferred
- 3.0 GPA (cumulative and in accounting major)
- Work experience preferred (related or unrelated to accounting)
- Strong drive and motivation to pursue a career in public accounting
- Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to take initiative via work experience and/or extracurricular activities
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Proven time management skills and ability to manage multiple responsibilities
- High degree of curiosity, willingness to learn, and enthusiasm
