Audio Video and Automation Tech apprentice

About the role

AV Specialists is seeking an entry-level technician to join their team. This position is ideal for someone who is eager to learn and gain practical experience in the audio/video and smart-home industry.

Responsibilities

• Pull and install low-voltage wiring
• Install TVs, speakers, networking equipment and smart-home technology
• Use tools and proper installation techniques
• Build and organize equipment racks
• Work in new construction and finished luxury homes
• Protect floors, walls, furniture and the client's property while working
• Keep jobsites and company vehicles clean and organized
• Learn how AV, networking and smart-home systems are connected and installed
• Troubleshoot problems and learn how to solve them
• Some days involve installing a beautiful TV, speakers or a high-end audio system
• Other days may require pulling cable, carrying equipment, climbing ladders or working in an attic
• You may get dirty at times, which is part of the job and part of learning the trade

Qualifications

• Experience with construction, electrical, low-voltage wiring, automotive work, computers, networking, electronics or tools is helpful, but not required
