About the role
Shure offers a challenging, fun, and rewarding summer internship program. The twelve-week program is offered to undergraduate and graduate students. We offer internships with a variety of work arrangements from onsite interns to fully remote in US. Each intern will receive a competitive salary. Additionally, interns who are asked to relocate to Illinois for onsite internships will receive a housing stipend to cover living expenses.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of a cross-functional development team to validate the audio performance of our Integrated Systems products.
- Work under the direction of DSP software, audio hardware engineers, and Product Management to execute tests and tune audio algorithms.
- Create audio test plans and test suites by translating product requirements into tests for quantifying and qualifying audio algorithm performance.
- Review test plans and results with engineers and project managers.
- Use scripting tools to automate tests where possible.
- Report and document any product issues discovered in the testing process.
- Estimate, organize, and document tasks.
- Communicate technical topics both verbally and in written form.
- Manage time efficiently to support project teams.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Audio Recording, Music Technology, or Engineering.
- Interest in, and/or experience with, working with professional audio products in live sound, recording or A/V conferencing environments.
- Experience with networked audio or IT networking is highly desirable.
- Experience with programming languages or scripting languages such as Python or Matlab is highly desirable.
- Critical listening skills.
- Strong verbal and written communications skills.
