Responsibilities
- Coordinate all aspects of the department's weekly Natural History online auctions.
- Process, enter, and tag incoming consignments into the auction database.
- Organize, select, and curate material for online auctions in collaboration with department specialists.
- Capture and edit catalog descriptions and condition information for auction listings.
- Maintain accurate lot records and ensure auction data is complete and up-to-date.
- Coordinate packing, shipping, and fulfillment of sold auction invoices.
- Aid clients with inquiries regarding auction lots and post-sale transactions.
- Collaborate with internal departments to ensure deadlines are met throughout the auction process.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Minimum of two years of experience in auction operations, collections management, cataloging, logistics, or a related field preferred.
- Experience writing detailed product descriptions or catalog entries is a plus.
- Knowledge of Natural History, Fine Minerals, fossils, meteorites, or related collectibles is preferred but not required.
Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Outlook, Word, and Excel.
- Excellent organizational, research, and written communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accuracy while managing multiple projects.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
- Positive attitude and commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds.
