We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to support a legal team in Los Angeles, California on a contract basis. This opportunity is ideal for a litigation specialist who can independently manage consumer warranty matters while maintaining strong advocacy, organization, and client service.
About the role
The role focuses on plaintiff-side civil litigation involving auto warranty disputes and requires someone who is comfortable handling cases through all phases of the legal process.
Responsibilities
- Oversee a high-volume portfolio of automotive consumer warranty litigation matters from intake through resolution.
- Prepare, review, and submit legal filings such as complaints, motions, briefs, and other case-related documents.
- Lead discovery efforts by drafting written discovery, evaluating produced materials, and conducting or defending depositions.
- Advocate for clients during negotiations, mediation sessions, court appearances, and trial proceedings when matters do not settle.
- Maintain consistent and clear communication with clients, opposing attorneys, court representatives, and additional case participants.
- Track litigation schedules closely to ensure timely filings and adherence to California court rules and procedures.
- Perform legal analysis and research to support case strategy, motion practice, and ongoing litigation decisions.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in the California State Bar with current good standing status.
- At least 3–5 years of experience in civil litigation, preferably representing plaintiffs.
- Working knowledge of California consumer warranty statutes, including Lemon Law matters, is strongly preferred.
- Strong written advocacy and verbal communication skills in legal and client-facing settings.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple active cases while meeting competing deadlines.
- Proficiency with legal research tools, discovery processes, and litigation support technology.
