About the role
We are looking for an experienced Attorney/Lawyer to join a legal team in Atlanta, Georgia in a contract capacity with the potential to become permanent. This opportunity is well suited for a licensed attorney with a strong background in probate matters and litigation support, along with the ability to manage case activity from research through document preparation. The role offers the chance to contribute to active matters involving probate administration, dispute resolution, and case strategy in a meticulous, client-focused environment.
Responsibilities
- Manage probate-related matters from initial case review through resolution, ensuring filings and deadlines are handled accurately.
- Conduct legal research to support case strategy, procedural decisions, and preparation for court-related matters.
- Prepare, revise, and analyze litigation documents such as motions, briefs, pleadings, and related case materials.
- Support discovery efforts by organizing information, evaluating documents, and assisting with response preparation.
- Handle negotiations connected to active cases, including discussions aimed at resolving disputes efficiently.
- Review case facts and legal issues to help develop practical recommendations and strong advocacy strategies.
- Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders to keep matters moving forward and maintain high-quality legal work.
- Participate in in-person interviews and maintain a consistent schedule during standard business hours.
Requirements
- Licensed attorney in good standing with the Georgia Bar.
- Demonstrated experience with probate matters and litigation-focused legal work.
Qualifications
- Strong ability to draft motions, briefs, and other formal legal documents.
- Working knowledge of discovery processes and document review responsibilities.
- Proven negotiation skills, including experience working toward settlement outcomes.
- Solid legal research capabilities with the ability to apply findings to active cases.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with close attention to detail.
