About the Role

We are seeking an attorney to handle litigated personal injury cases in Texas from initial assignment through final resolution. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with litigation leadership and support staff while advancing matters through discovery, negotiation, mediation, and trial preparation. The ideal candidate brings strong courtroom readiness, sound judgment, and a client-centered approach to every stage of the case.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee a portfolio of personal injury litigation matters from handoff through settlement, mediation, or trial outcome.
  • Build case strength by directing medical documentation review, coordinating expert involvement, and organizing evidence related to liability and damages.
  • Manage written discovery, deposition preparation, and motion drafting while ensuring compliance with court procedures and litigation strategy.
  • Prepare matters for mediation and trial by developing exhibits, assisting with witness readiness, and supporting overall case presentation.
  • Partner with firm leadership to assess case direction, identify elevated-risk issues, and seek guidance on complex or high-value disputes.
  • Work closely with paralegals and legal support staff to maintain timely filings, discovery responses, and well-organized case materials.
  • Track deadlines, limitation periods, lien considerations, and file documentation to safeguard case progress and client recovery.
  • Maintain clear communication with clients, opposing counsel, and the court while upholding ethical standards and firm expectations.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor degree and active license to practice law in Texas in good standing.
  • At least 3 years of experience in civil litigation, with personal injury litigation experience strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to draft motions, prepare briefs, conduct discovery, and support deposition and mediation efforts.
  • Solid knowledge of litigation procedures, trial preparation, and case development in plaintiff personal injury matters.
  • Ability to manage multiple active files, balance competing deadlines, and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with sound analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency with legal technology and case management platforms used to organize and advance litigation files.
