We are seeking an accomplished Attorney/Lawyer to join a respected plaintiff-side practice in Providence, Rhode Island. The role focuses heavily on medical malpractice, wrongful death, catastrophic injury, and product liability litigation, offering meaningful casework and the chance to contribute to significant outcomes for injured clients.
Responsibilities
- Manage plaintiff-side litigation matters involving medical malpractice, wrongful death, catastrophic injury, and product liability claims from case development through resolution.
- Prepare persuasive motions, briefs, pleadings, and other legal filings that support litigation strategy and advance client interests.
- Conduct and oversee all phases of discovery, including document review, written discovery, depositions, and coordination with experts.
- Evaluate liability, damages, and case value in substantial claims, helping shape strategy for negotiation, settlement, or trial.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, hearings, mediations, and other litigation-related appearances as needed.
- Work closely with fellow attorneys and support staff in a collaborative, team-oriented setting while maintaining ownership of assigned matters.
- Communicate effectively with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and other stakeholders throughout the life of each case.
Requirements
- Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction, with Rhode Island admission required and additional bar admission viewed favorably.
- At least 3 years of experience in civil litigation, with a strong preference for plaintiff-side personal injury, medical malpractice, wrongful death, or product liability work.
- Demonstrated ability to draft motions, briefs, pleadings, and other litigation documents with a high level of quality and precision.
- Hands-on experience managing discovery, including written discovery, document production, and depositions.
- Solid courtroom and case management skills, with the ability to handle complex matters independently.
- Strong analytical judgment and the ability to assess high-exposure cases involving significant damages.
- Excellent communication, organization, and client advocacy skills in a fast-paced legal environment.
