About the role
We are looking for an Attorney/Lawyer to join a legal team in Salem, MA. This opportunity is well suited for a licensed attorney who can manage family law matters with confidence while producing strong written work and guiding cases through discovery and motion practice. The role offers the chance to handle meaningful legal issues, collaborate closely with clients and colleagues, and contribute to case strategy from initial assessment through resolution.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in family law matters and provide thoughtful legal guidance tailored to each case.
- Prepare motions, legal memoranda, and other court filings with clear reasoning and strong supporting authority.
- Conduct written and document discovery, evaluate responses, and identify information needed to strengthen case strategy.
- Draft persuasive briefs and supporting materials for hearings, negotiations, and court proceedings.
- Analyze case facts, applicable law, and procedural requirements to develop effective legal arguments.
- Communicate regularly with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel to move matters forward efficiently.
- Organize case files, review evidence, and maintain accurate documentation throughout the life of each matter.
- Support negotiations, settlement discussions, and courtroom preparation as cases progress toward resolution.
Requirements
- Licensed attorney in good standing and authorized to practice law.
- Demonstrated experience handling family law matters.
- Strong ability to draft motions, briefs, and other formal legal documents.
- Working knowledge of discovery procedures and related case preparation activities.
- Excellent legal research, analytical, and written communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple matters while meeting court deadlines and client expectations.
- Sound judgment, attention to detail, and effective interpersonal communication skills.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
