About the role

A highly respected family law practice in downtown Chicago is seeking a Family Law Attorney with 2+ years of experience to join its collaborative and team-oriented environment. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to gain hands-on litigation experience while working closely with accomplished family law practitioners recognized within the industry for their legal excellence. This role offers exposure to both litigation and client counseling, meaningful client interaction, and the opportunity to work on complex family law matters involving sophisticated financial and custody issues.

Responsibilities

• Draft motions, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, and other legal documents
• Conduct legal research and support case strategy development
• Manage discovery, including reviewing and organizing substantial client documentation
• Analyze income and financial records in support of family law matters
• Represent clients at non-contested status hearings and other routine court appearances
• Maintain consistent client communication and provide compassionate, professional guidance
• Work closely with attorneys and staff in a collaborative team environment

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
• Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Illinois
• 2+ years of family law experience required
• Strong legal writing, research, and analytical skills
• Experience handling discovery and financial document review
• Excellent organizational and client-service skills
• Ability to manage multiple matters in a fast-paced environment

Compensation

• Salary: $100,000 – $140,000
• Bonus Structure:
  • Year-end bonus
  • Origination credit for business generated
