About the role
We are seeking a dynamic, ambitious, and experienced attorney specializing in first-party claims to join our thriving legal team. This is an exceptional opportunity to bring your expertise in first-party claims, general liability defense litigation, insurance, defense, products liability, and premises liability to a forward-thinking and innovative team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role and will be eager to handle a diverse caseload in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Handle a wide variety of first-party claims and litigation matters, including but not limited to general liability defense, product liability, and premises liability defense.
- Conduct thorough and detailed legal research, draft legal documents, and provide legal opinions and advice.
- Represent clients in court, present evidence to defend clients in civil litigation, and manage and direct cases to settlement or trial.
- Interact with clients, claim professionals, underwriting, risk control, and other parties involved in the legal process.
- Negotiate settlements for legal disputes and manage all aspects of litigation, including the discovery process, trial preparation, and post-trial work.
- Continuously update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Member in good standing with the Florida State Bar.
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in first-party claims, general liability defense litigation, insurance, defense, products liability, and premises liability defense.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a large caseload, prioritize tasks, and work effectively under pressure.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from clients, colleagues, and the general public.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Proficiency in legal research tools and software.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining the highest level of professional and ethical standards.
Pay
$100,000 - $170,000 per year
