Our client is seeking a motivated Insurance Defense Attorney to join its growing Charleston office. Responsibilities

  • Handle a diverse insurance defense caseload with increasing autonomy
  • Develop case strategy in partnership with clients and senior attorneys
  • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, settlement agreements, and other litigation documents
  • Conduct legal research and prepare clear, persuasive written analysis
  • Participate in hearings, depositions, mediations, and other court-related proceedings
  • Communicate proactively with clients, opposing counsel, carriers, and industry professionals
  • Manage competing priorities, deadlines, and case-related responsibilities with close attention to detail

Qualifications

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in South Carolina
  • 1-3 years of litigation experience; insurance defense experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and oral advocacy skills
  • Ability to manage multiple matters while maintaining high-quality work product
  • Professional communication skills and a client-service-oriented approach
  • Interest in developing a long-term career within insurance defense litigation
