Established (50+ years) and growing mid-sized firm in Florham Park/Union, NJ, seeks a Senior Associate/Counsel with 5+ years of Family Law experience.

About the role

This position involves sophisticated family law matters, general commercial litigation, alternate dispute resolution, premarital and marital agreements, and commercial settlement agreements. You will represent clients in litigation, advisory, negotiation, and dispute resolution while ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and assist with a caseload under Principal supervision involving sophisticated family law matters and general commercial litigation
  • Conduct discovery, hearings, trials, depositions, oral arguments, mediations, arbitrations, and related proceedings
  • Work closely with Principals to develop, evaluate, and revise legal strategy
  • Draft and negotiate premarital agreements, marital settlement agreements, and commercial settlement agreements
  • Advise clients regarding legal rights, obligations, risks, and strategic options
  • Perform legal research and prepare persuasive written work product for litigation, advisory, and negotiation matters
  • Remain current with changes in applicable law and understand the legal, business, and personal issues involved in client matters
  • Collaborate with attorneys and firm leadership to deliver high-quality client service and efficient case management
  • Handle administrative responsibilities related to the practice of law and active matter management

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the New Jersey Bar is required
  • Admission to the New York Bar is strongly preferred
  • 5+ years of family law experience
  • Experience with family law, business law, and general commercial litigation matters
  • Knowledge of state law and the operational needs of clients involved in complex litigation and advisory matters
  • Member in good standing with all applicable state bars

Pay

Salary range: $175,000–$200,000+, contingent on experience. Robust performance-based bonuses and company performance/discretionary bonuses.
