About The Opportunity
One in three Americans carries a criminal record — and even old, minor records can shut doors to jobs, housing, and opportunity. Our client is a mission-driven legal tech organization dedicated to making record clearance simple and affordable for the people who need it most, at a fraction of the cost of traditional legal services. As they expand into Oregon, they are seeking a permanent Staff Attorney to serve as the cornerstone of their Oregon practice.
What You'll Do
- Analyze eligibility for set aside and record clearance under Oregon law
- Draft, review, and file legal documents and set aside petitions
- Prepare for and attend objection hearings as needed
- Manage a caseload of Oregon record clearance matters end-to-end
- Partner with a software development team to build document and workflow automation tools
- Support rights restoration consultations and protective order resolutions
- Collaborate with Oregon partners to grow the organization's presence and community relationships
What We're Looking For
- Active Oregon bar licensure in good standing — Washington licensure is a significant differentiator
- Minimum 3 years of legal experience; background in prosecution, public defense, or legal aid strongly preferred
- Genuine compassion for working with vulnerable and disadvantaged populations
- Comfort with — and enthusiasm for — legal technology and innovation
- Strong organizational and communication skills with the ability to manage a caseload independently
- Familiarity with Oregon criminal justice, court process, or record clearance is a plus
- Spanish language skills are a bonus
Compensation & Details
- $90,000 annual salary
- Permanent, direct-hire placement
- Full-time, remote position
- Occasional in-person attendance at hearings may be required
- Occasional travel for firm leadership meetings
