Job Description
The First Assistant assists in the operation of the division and directs the work of the subordinate attorneys and support staff within the division. The First Assistant also provides legal representation and legal counsel to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, Michigan Department of Education, Michigan Department of Lifelong Education, Advancement and Potential, and Michigan Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs as well as agencies, commissions, boards, and staff within these Departments.
Required Education and Experience
- Possession of a Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited school of law.
- Six years of post-bar admission legal experience.
Additional Qualifications
- Membership in good standing in the Michigan State Bar.
