Job Summary

About the role

This position is located at the South Cobb Aquatic Center.

Essential Job Functions

  • Plans and implements short and long-term goals, objectives, and strategies for the Aquatic Center.
  • Affirms all programs/facility’s operations are in full compliance with all procedures and guidelines of the Division, Department, and County policy.
  • Prepares financial, registration, attendance, and special projects reports, memos, and correspondence for the center.
  • Maintains communication with the user groups, other department units, and the general public to assure effective operation of programs and facility.
  • Receives and deals with requests, complaints or concerns from the public.
  • Performs supervisory responsibilities in compliance with County policies and procedure.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Recreation, Recreation and Parks Management or a related field.
  • Valid Drivers License.
  • Three years related experience in aquatics field including managing public swimming pools, physical plant operations, supervision of staff, programs and fiscal responsibilities.
  • Ability to certify/train staff in lifeguard and swim instructions.
  • Lifeguard Instructor Certification; Water Safety Instructor Aquatic Facility Operator or Certified Pool Operator Certification preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Supplemental Information

  • Salary Grade: 52
  • Status: Exempt
  • Cobb County Government is a smoke free environment for all employees.
