Attending EMT

Qualifications

One year of full-time paraprofessional work experience working with seniors, people with disabilities and/or clients of human/social service programs.

• May substitute the equivalent number of college credits in a relevant discipline or field for the work experience requirement.
• Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth grade.
• Additional specialized training or college-level coursework in social services or a related field is desirable.

Skills

• May require a valid driver's license.
• Criminal Background Check: Oregon Revised Statutes 410-007-0200 through 0380 require applicants being considered for appointment to positions that provide care, treatment, education, training, instruction, supervision, placement services, recreation or support to children, the elderly or persons with mental or developmental disabilities to submit background information for the purpose of completing a criminal history record check.

Experience

• Determining eligibility and issuing benefits for Food Stamps and/or Medicaid programs: More than 3 years experience.
• Participating in determining eligibility or screening for social service programs: More than 3 years experience.
• Working with seniors and/or people with disabilities: More than 3 years experience.
• Explaining an application process, the use of benefits and/or similar complex issues: More than 3 years experience.
• Providing customer service in a high volume/high speed environment: More than 3 years experience.
• Using complex financial or statistical information: More than 3 years experience.
• Using the Oregon State DHS (Department of Human Services) mainframe computer system, or other complex governmental or corporate database system: More than 3 years experience.
