Daily Operational Expectations
- Morning Duty: Manage the "Tardy Tank" from 7:30 AM to approximately 8:12 AM daily.
- Daily Reporting: Enter Tardy Tank reports and Tardy Tracker data immediately following the morning duty.
- Meetings: Attend the daily 9:00 AM Attendance Meeting.
- Quarterly Maintenance: Create and update Tardy Sheets for each quarter.
Primary Performance Responsibilities
- Investigation and Outreach:
- Conduct investigations into student truancy and track "class cuts".
- Perform direct outreach through telephone calls and home visits to absent/truant students and their guardians to encourage attendance.
- Maintain positive communication and interactions with parents, guardians, and family members.
- Data Management and Documentation:
- Create and maintain a database system to document all intervention attempts, including messages and home visits.
- Maintain accurate lists and spreadsheets of chronically truant students.
- Run and analyze daily reports, including the Early Warning System (EWS), Absentee Reports, and Securlypass reports.
- Enter and track data for field trips, assemblies, and testing to ensure attendance records remain accurate.
- Handle and resolve all residency issues or concerns.
- Support and Intervention:
- Assist in the development of attendance improvement plans.
- Cookordinate attendance challenges and provide incentives to students to promote a positive attendance culture.
- Prepare for and assist in formal attendance hearings.
- Collaborative Discipline and Reporting:
- Meet weekly with Assistant Principals (APs) to monitor grade-level spreadsheets for tardies occurring after 8:15 AM.
- Collaborate with grade-level APs to determine and assign progressive discipline based on attendance data.
- Gather and present quarterly attendance data to leadership.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office products and automated systems (e.g., EWS, Securlypass, Tardy Tracker).
- Legal Knowledge: Knowledge of school attendance and truancy laws preferred.
- Licensing: Must possess a valid Connecticut driver's license for conducting home visits.
