Attendance Coordinator

Data Analysis

Regularly monitor and analyze attendance data to identify the target group of students (6-15 absences per semester).

Direct Student Intervention

Conduct individual meetings and facilitate student groups focused on identifying and overcoming barriers to regular school attendance.

Home Visits

Congduct home visits to engage with families, and encourage a return to consistent school attendance.

Administrative Support

Write attendance referrals/letters and work closely with school disciplinarians on attendance-related issues.

Agency Liaison

Collaborate with outside social service agencies and local law enforcement to link students and families to necessary support services.

Team Collaboration

Partner with the Building Principal, disciplinarians, and other school staff to develop and implement innovative intervention strategies.

Compliance

Maintain accurate records of interventions and communications as required for Title 1 documentation and District 218 policy.

Availability

This is a 10-month position with workday hours of Monday - Friday from 7:50 a.m. - 3:20 p.m. Must be willing and able to conduct off-site home visits in conjunction with your security staff.

Meetings

Participate in weekly/bi-weekly student support team meetings or disciplinary reviews.

Professionalism

Maintain a high level of confidentiality regarding student records and family situations in accordance with FERPA and district policy.

Time and Effort Tracking

Maintain accurate record of interactions and efforts as required by Federal grants.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelors or Graduate Degree preferred.
  • Certification: Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or Substitute Certificate required.
  • Skills: Strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well in a team setting, and proficiency in data management systems.

Benefits

This position is eligible for benefits in accordance with Illinois law (effective January 2025) and current district agreements for non-represented staff.

Compensation

The 2026-2027 hourly rate for Attendance Coordinators is $25.00/hr. Based on a 177 days * 7.5 hours annually or $33,187.50. Salary will be pro-rated if not started at the beginning of the school year.
