Athletics Business Operations Manager, Administrator I
About the Role
Reporting to the Director of Intercollegiate Athletics, the Athletics Business Operations Manager oversees the daily operations of the Athletics Business Office. Responsibilities include maintaining financial records, managing the deposit and cash collection process, overseeing team supply and equipment purchases, contributing to the development and revision of policies and procedures, and supervising staff and student personnel. This position serves as the department's liaison with other campus units on matters related to accounting, finance, budget, travel, insurance, tax, and human resources. The incumbent ensures compliance with university business processes, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Maintain financial records for the Athletics department.
- Manage the deposit and cash collection process.
- Oversee team supply and equipment purchases.
- Contribute to the development and revision of policies and procedures.
- Supervise staff and student personnel within the Athletics Business Office.
- Serve as the department liaison with campus units on accounting, finance, budget, travel, insurance, tax, and human resources.
- Ensure compliance with university business processes, policies, and procedures.
- Independently manage multiple work unit priorities and projects, meeting critical and cyclical deadlines accurately and timely.
- Provide outstanding customer service to students, staff, faculty, and visitors.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in operations/financial management or sport management, including 2 years of progressively responsible and applicable management and/or supervisory experience.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute for the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work in a professional, fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (preferred).
- Higher education experience (preferred).
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
- Knowledge of Google Suite, Teamworks (ARMS) Software, NCAA Financial Reporting Software, and PeopleSoft (preferred).
Pay
Starting salary placement depends on qualifications and experience and is anticipated to be in the range of $6,667 to $7,917 per month.
