About the role
Responsible for delivery of Athletic Training Care in accordance with NATA (National Athletic Trainer's Association) standards as well as Tennessee and/or Georgia Athletic Training Practice Acts. Work settings include one or more of the following: High School Outreach settings and College settings. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care. Team members are trained to meet the highest level of function for their role as per the State of Tennessee/Georgia guidelines.
Key responsibilities
- Prevention, evaluation, treatment and referral of athletic related injuries
- Coordinate care for patients and support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change (as per role and responsibilities)
- Manage the practice's patient population (as per role and responsibilities)
- Participate in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation
- Demonstrate proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment
- Carry out all prescribed treatments and recommendations by the team/program/event physician
- Maintain NATA and CPR certification in accordance with those respective institutions and Erlanger Policy
- Cover assigned pre-season physicals, sports games or matches, and related events under the supervision of the program manager
- Demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development over the life span and possess the ability to assess data reflective of the athlete's status and interpret the appropriate information
Education
- Required: Bachelor's Degree
- Preferred: Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field
- Graduate of NATA approved curriculum educational program
Experience
- Preferred: Two years in clinical/collegiate/outreach setting
- Preferred: NATA Membership
Licenses & certifications
- Required: BOC Certification
- Required: Current license or temporary license to practice in the state of TN or GA
- Required: BLS as required by BOC and state licensure
