About the role

Provide athletic training outreach services for secondary schools and universities in the area.

Responsibilities

  • Care for injuries using therapeutic modalities and rehabilitation techniques.
  • Evaluate readiness to return to daily activities, and coordinate clearances when necessary.
  • Provide athletic training outreach and medical care to assigned location.
  • Responsible for athletic training special event coverage when scheduled.
  • Maintain a line of communication with the team physician(s) regarding athletic health care and recommended treatment/rehabilitation for all athletic injuries.
  • Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room.
  • Maintain communication with parents on the care and treatment of their student-athlete.
  • File all necessary reports associated with athletic injuries and/or incidents.
  • Maintain a daily treatment log.
  • Oversee the ordering of supplies and equipment pertaining to the athletic training room and maintain an up-to-date inventory.
  • Create a safe playing environment by monitoring and controlling environmental risks.
  • This position may require travel to and from satellite clinics as assigned.

Requirements

  • Degree in athletic training/sports medicine from CAATE approved institution (required).
  • Master’s Degree in related field (preferred).
  • NATA certification in good standing (required).
  • Current state license in Athletic Training (required).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification from American Heart Association or American Red Cross (required).
  • Valid driver’s license and satisfactory Motor Vehicle Record (if travel is assigned; MVR will be screened annually).

Experience

  • No previous experience required.
  • 2 years’ experience as a certified athletic trainer (preferred).
