Athletic Trainer - Full- Time

About the role

Responsible for delivery of Athletic Training Care in accordance with NATA (National Athletic Trainer's Association) standards as well as Tennessee and/or Georgia Athletic Training Practice Acts. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care and works in settings including High School Outreach and College settings.

Responsibilities

  • Prevention, evaluation, treatment and referral of athletic related injuries
  • Coordinate care for patients and support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change
  • Manage the practice's patient population
  • Participate in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation
  • Cover assigned pre-season physicals, sports games or matches, and related events under the supervision of the program manager

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field preferred)
  • Graduate of NATA approved curriculum educational program
  • BOC Certification
  • Current license or temporary license to practice in the state of TN or GA
  • BLS as required by BOC and state licensure

Qualifications

Preferred qualifications include two years of experience in a clinical/collegiate/outreach setting and NATA Membership.

Skills

  • Demonstrate an ability to perform functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning
  • Proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment
  • Ability to assess data reflective of the athlete's status and interpret the appropriate information
  • Knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span
