About the role
Responsible for delivery of Athletic Training Care in accordance with NATA (National Athletic Trainer's Association) standards as well as Tennessee and/or Georgia Athletic Training Practice Acts. This position is involved in a team-based approach to care and works in settings including High School Outreach and College settings.
Responsibilities
- Prevention, evaluation, treatment and referral of athletic related injuries
- Coordinate care for patients and support patients/families/caregivers in self-management, self-efficacy and behavior change
- Manage the practice's patient population
- Participate in the practice's quality improvement process and performance evaluation
- Cover assigned pre-season physicals, sports games or matches, and related events under the supervision of the program manager
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree (Master's Degree in Athletic Training or related field preferred)
- Graduate of NATA approved curriculum educational program
- BOC Certification
- Current license or temporary license to practice in the state of TN or GA
- BLS as required by BOC and state licensure
Qualifications
Preferred qualifications include two years of experience in a clinical/collegiate/outreach setting and NATA Membership.
Skills
- Demonstrate an ability to perform functions regarding athletic injuries: prevention, assessment, treatment, and reconditioning
- Proper taping, strapping, bracing, and fitting of athletic equipment
- Ability to assess data reflective of the athlete's status and interpret the appropriate information
- Knowledge of the principals of growth and development over the life span
