Athletic Trainer, FT Days

Provide services in regards to prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care and rehabilitation for all active individuals and sports-related injuries. Overall goal is to maximize safe return to activity. The individual will also demonstrate professional development and responsibility within the field of athletic training. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission, values, and Mercy Service Standards.

Responsibilities

  • Perform prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care, and rehabilitation of sports-related injuries.
  • Maximize safe return to activity for all active individuals.
  • Demonstrate professional development and responsibility within the field of athletic training.
  • Assess data reflective of the patient's status and interpret appropriate information to identify patient needs relative to age-specific requirements.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an athletic training program from an accredited college or university.
  • State of practice licensure or eligibility for Athletic Trainer licensure is required.
  • Certification through the Board of Certification, Inc.
  • Professional Rescuer CPR or its equivalent.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Trained and capable of performing patient care.
  • Ability to assess and interpret patient data to meet age-specific needs.
  • Adaptability to work occasional odd hours, including weekends and travel.

Working Conditions

  • Clinical and/or outreach athletic training settings.
  • Occasional weekend work and travel required throughout the year.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in athletic training or related field.
  • Some experience in athletic training (preferred but not required).
  • National Athletic Trainers Association certification as an athletic trainer.
