Athletic Trainer, DME Coordinator

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Measure and fit off-the-shelf orthopaedic bracing and other orthopaedic devices.
• Instruct patients regarding use of orthopaedic bracing products and other orthopaedic devices.
• Ordering of products and maintaining inventory of DME Store.
• Performing pre-certification for certain orthopaedic product.
• Recommend orthopaedic bracing and products to patients on a walk-in basis.
• Communicating patient questions or concerns regarding orthopaedic products with physician and staff.
• Communicating with product representatives and vendors regarding product complications or issues.
• Maintaining licensure and certification requirements to comply with the State of Illinois, BOC, and NATA Code of Ethics.
• Completing special projects as assigned.
• Performing duties of co-workers and subordinates as workload dictates.

Education And/or Experience

• Bachelor’s degree from four-year college or university in Athletic Trainer or other health-related field.
• Certified Athletic Trainer.
• Orthotic Fitter Certification preferred but not required.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an orthopedic or medical setting preferred but not required.

Pay

Pay Range: $50k- $65k annualized.

Qualifications

The successful candidate must have a Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university in Athletic Trainer or other health-related field. Certification as a Certified Athletic Trainer is required. Orthotic Fitter Certification is preferred but not required.
