Job Duties

  • Monitoring Activities: Track and monitor various activities to ensure compliance, including but not limited to countable athletically related activities (CARA) and related workflow processes.
  • Student-Athlete Eligibility: Assist in determining and monitoring initial and continuing eligibility status of student athletes, and maintaining related records.
  • Documentation and Record Keeping: Maintain and file compliance-related forms and student-athlete files, ensuring all required documentation remains current and accurately stored with the use of internal and external compliance software systems.
  • Rules Education: Help develop and deliver educational materials and presentations on NCAA rules for coaches, staff, student-athletes, and boosters to ensure regulations are understood and followed.
  • Research and Interpretation: Conduct research on NCAA bylaws and provide support for rules interpretations, waivers, and violation reports.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative assistance to the compliance department, such as data entry, preparing reports, and attending departmental meetings and conference calls.

Core Student-Athlete Development Responsibilities

  • Career & Professional Development: Assist Director of Career Services (on-campus) with initiatives, programs, and services to enhance career development resources for student-athletes, such as organizing career fairs, identifying internships and volunteer opportunities, resume-building workshops, and connections with local and national employers, as well as alumni networks.
  • SAAC & Leadership Development: Serve as an advisor to the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC), fostering leadership, community service, and student-athlete representation within the NCAA governance structure.
  • Personal Development & Well-being: Create and coordinate programming focusing on mental health, alcohol and drug awareness, sexual assault prevention, financial literacy, and social responsibility.

Other Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred
  • Effective listening skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to complete tasks with accuracy despite frequent interruptions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills in the English language.
  • Proficiency in the use of basic computer applications relevant to job duties
